January 26 - 29

Meet Miscouche Freddie our class groundhog!

We invited grades 1 and 2 to also predict if the groundhog will see his shadow tomorrow.  Please listen to the news and let us know tomorrow!

To celebrate Family Literacy Day we set up some cozy areas in the classroom.  The children really enjoyed sharing their favorite books with their friends.  We were interviewed for the Mustang News here at school and Tanner spoke for our class.  He did an awesome job of explaining what Family Literacy was all about and showing the cozy areas to the camera crew!

Colton and Molly working on their page of our class The Mitten book!

Working on their own Mitten to put all the characters in from the story The Mitten!

Roll and tally which character will race to the top?

How many dinkies, shells, cubes, blocks will fit into my mitten?  Fill your mitten,  count the objects and record on the recording sheet!

We each made our own groundhog ...I'm a little groundhog furry and brown.  Popping up my head to look around,  If the sun is out down I'll go six more weeks of winter Oh No!  If it's nice and cloudy out I'll stay.  Spring will soon  be on its way!

We each had a turn to be a groundhog and a friend held up the sun or a cloud.  When we pooped up if it was sunny we went back in our home and if we saw the cloud we stayed out!  Lots of fun!

Some learning centre fun!

We went out a few minutes early after our really busy day and had some fun in the snow!  Thank you Lorri-Ann MacLean for sending me the pictures!
