September 25 - 29 ~~~~~ Finishing up Pete the Cat!

Freezie Day … Each child enjoyed a freezie.  Grace and Nevaeh shared their freezie with a friend.  Thanks girls, sharing is important!

Some Learning centre fun!!!  Emma and Morgan used every straw and connector to create this huge creation!

The number of letters in our names.  We discovered that 2 friends have 4 letters in their names, 2 friends had 5 letters, 3 friends have 6 letters and 2 friends have 7 letters in their names. Math, literacy, and fun all in one activity!

This work job consisted of words and sentences.  The children first matched the words to the sentence strip and then took turns reading the sentences. Sorry the video recordings did not open for you to hear your child read! But you can see the concentration as they are reading the sentence strips!

Find the letter tiles to spell the Pete the Cat related words!

Concentration Card Game with 2 cards of each item. Turn two cards over if they match you keep them and have another turn.

Roll the number dice and color the number that you rolled.  When you are finished with the numbers, color Pete the Cat!

I was outside on duty.  I gave the students a bucket of chalk.  Lots of drawing on the pavement pad!

We had our first Library day with Mrs. Gorveatt!  Books are due back on Tuesday,October 3rd.  Children will be able to take another book home if they return their library book.

I do not know where the morning children have disappeared… all I can see are 9 Pete the Cats!!!

In Social Studies we have been discussing Needs and Wants. I guess we need to work a little more on what this means.

Using the wooden parts of Handwriting without Tears we had some fun building the letters.

We were discussing how we can sort letters into tall letters, small letters and hanging letters.  We discovered that all uppercase letters are called tall letters and that we all had small letters in our names, Seth, Holden, Griffin, Nevaeh and I also had tall letters in our names and Emily and I both had a hanging letter in our name.

We had some fun at the end of the day with this listening movement poem.  Motor Boat, Motor Boat, Go so slow, Motor Boat Motor Boat, Go so fast.  Motor Boat Motor Boat, Step on the gas.

Learning all our friends names.  Call your friends name and throw the ball to them.
