January 29 - February 2 ~~~~ The Mitten , Groundhog Day, and 3D Robots!!!

Grayson and Maddy celebrated their
6th Birthday! Happy Birthday!

Harper wrote the morning message.
Great spacing!

This work job involved making your own
The Mitten story to take home. First you choose
An envelope, trace the mitten onto it,
Be sure to add your name and finally
color and cut out the characters.

Roll the character cube, which
character will race to the top first?

Using word tiles to make the
names of the animals in the Mitten
and The Hat.  Then using buttons
decorate mittens.

This work job involved counting how
Many of each object would fit into a m
Mitten.  The children used a number line
To check to see if they were forming
The numbers correctly.

February 1st, after lunch we were discussing
Groundhog Day. We learned a little song.
Then the children created their own little
Groundhogs.

Our 3D Robot Project Day finally
arrived this is what the mat looked
like as we started.  Thank you for all
the items that you sent in.

As the creation making began,
the only rule was that if you
were making a robot you needed
to have a body, a head, legs, and
arms.  You could add any other
details you wished.

Our finished robots!  The children so
enjoyed making the 3D Robots.
Lots of creativity, fine motor and problem
solving as the children worked.

We set up a 3D Shape Museum.  I will
be sending an e-mail to the staff at school
to see if they and their students could take a
few minutes to view and write a comment on
the 3D Museum Creations. We will leave the
Museum up until parent teacher interviews.
If you could take a minute to write a comment
In the book that would be appreciated.  You will
Also be taking your child’ 3D shape home with
You. We invited Mr. MacDonald up to see the
fun, filled learning that was occurring in the class.

Some learning centre pictures!
