December 10 - 14 ~~~~ The Gingerbread Man!!!!

Roll the dice and whatever number 

you roll color that section of the

 Gingerbread man with that number 

on it any color your wish.

Color the Gingerbread house 

by color code.

Complete the Gingerbread

 man pattern.

Using a magnifying glass find the

 Gingerbread men with words

 on them. Record the words.

Gingerbread board game.

Gingerbread Family Puzzle

Gingerbread ten frames. Look at

 the number

 on the ten frame. Place that

 many Christmas objects on the ten frame.

The Gingerbread Theme just would 

not be complete without acting out 

the story. It was acted out 2x so 

everyone could have a part.  When

 we finished the question I

 was asked... can we do it again?

Our school is having a door

decorating contest.  

We made a beautiful snowman.

We went to a presentation

from the Milk Foundation.  

Yum Yums and Fussy Pants helped

Jessica teach on the importance

of healthy foods.

The Gingerbread theme has

taken over the classroom.  

The children decorated the

display table!

We have a little tree in the

hallway which we are beginning

to create Christmas ornaments

to decorate it.

This year as we have been 

learning about community helpers

 each child chose a community

 helper to make their gingerbread about.

  Then they traced a house template

 and created a house. They told me

 one thing they knew about that

 community helper which I typed up for them.

As I read Gingerbread stories, 

 we are completing a story map.

 This is a great way to increase

 comprehension about the story. 

 The children know there will be

 questions and listen intently to be able 

to answer the questions. After 

answering the questions we put a

 storyboard out in the hallway.

The gingerbread boy and girl 

were in the classroom but disappeared

 leaving only a note before we could eat them.

White boards are a favorite learning

 activity in the class.

We always do some sounds

, sight words, and numbers before

 the children have some free 

minutes to create what they wish.

Hour of Code, the grade 7’s were our helpers.
