Our Literacy Day Activities!!! The children really enjoyed all
the reading activities. Susan Arsenault read to the K-3 students.
Grade 9 students Rielly as ( Mrs. Wishy-Washy), and Samantha, Taylor and Kayle
came to read to KA and B. The kindergarten children had
opportunities to read in several cozy places in the class.
Finishing with reading our created " The Mitten" story.
Wonderful day in Kindergarten!

Our city continues to grow!

The castle - Great for the imagination!

Some finished work!

The writing centre is well used!
The children really enjoy stickers and other writing
materials that you are sending in. Thank-you!

Searching for sight words in the mitten song!

Look at how big my glove is with all the
shells squeezed in!

Lots of cubes fit into my mitten!

That's a mitten full of bears!

I wonder how many items will fit in my mitten?

Now we need to get the animals ready!

How do we sew?

Hole punching was really hard!
We needed to get some help.

We created our very own "The Mitten" story.
First the mittens!

Our Literacy Frosty!
We have really enjoyed hearing
all about the books that were read
at home. Literacy is so important!

Our Watching Frosty Grow with Good Books
has grown so large that Grade 2 designed a large
snowflake on another wall.
Great to see the support for
Family Literacy Day!

The finished display. It looks awesome!

Everyone is Kindergarten A and B chose a letter to decorate
for our Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Alphabet Display.

Mrs. Dumville changed into the Chicka Chicka
Boom Tree. We had fun putting the
letters on the tree.

We went to Kindergarten A and everyone
made their very own Chicka Chicka Boom Boom tree snack.
The cookie was the tree trunk, apples slices for the branches,
grapes for coconuts and alphabet cereal for the letters.
Delicious and Fun!

Our favorite Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Letters.
Lose-toothed T, Black-eyed P, Stubbed-toe e, and
Patched-up f.

All eyes were on Sherla, our Mystery Reader. The children
were very engaged. Sherla had some great
interactive activities to go along with the story.
Going on a Bear Hunt.

Counting the dots and putting the dominoes under
the right number.

Working on High 5 activities after our work jobs
are completed. We like the choices!

I put the numbers in order. Now where did number 7 go?

Are you sure all the letters are in the sand box.
I still need to find some to record.

Z is enjoying Book Buddy Time!

Z's Timeline
August is Summer, September a visit to Mickey,
and in November it's my birthday!

Kindergarten A and B worked together on the school
year timeline. We discovered that some children
were born on the same day.

January 9 - 13

I hope my friend M in kindergarten A likes the
letter I am writing to her.

The whiteboard on the teacher's cart is wonderful
for developing fine motor control.

Teamwork!

Sink or Float. I think it will float.

Quiet time - We all look at our favorite books and listen to two classical
songs each day after big recess. Then we are ready for the
rest of the day!

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom Magnetic Alphabet Tree!

Our mystery reader Lindy Waite did an awesome job of reading.
We now know how all about exclamation and question marks!

Do you like our lego creation?

Practice Paper Tub

Sight Words!

This looks like a very interesting book. The picture
dictionary is helping me with write the words.
I have a title, used words and illustrations!

We really enjoy our new high five activities.
We freely choose any of the five activities when
we finish our work job!

Z likes getting the goop to make silly sounds!
Here she build a nest for the turkey!

Can you guess the number I have by counting the number of objects
in the five frame?
