November 23 - 27 Week #2 - Mrs. Wishy Washy

The block centre has been very busy this week.  The children are using their creative minds to build some wonderful structures!

This literacy work job was to color and cut out your own Mrs. Wishy Washy story.

Reading your own Mrs. Wishy Washy story as a group.  And then to the surprise of the children Mrs. Wishy Washy (aka Mrs. Dumville)  did appear!

Follow the paths to get the animals to the tub.  Help Mrs. Wishy Washy get home through the maze.

Library day with our grade 4 book buddies.  First we signed out a book and them we chose a Christmas candy cane, lollipop or candy to color and cut out for our Gingerbread classroom door!

Gingerbread Season has arrived our door is looking festive!

Our Rocks in the Bucket Celebration.  Part one Mr. MacDonald came and read to the class and then the freeze dance was next!

The food part - we made dirt and mud sundaes!  Thanks to Evan mom -  Dawn MacMillan for sending in the gummi worms.

The final part of our celebration a longer learning centre time!  The children, Ms. B., and I really enjoyed our celebration day!  The children are starting to wonder how long it will take to fill our bucket with rocks again so we can have another celebration!

November 16 - 19 Week # 1 - Mrs. Wishy Washy

Roll a dice place that amount of bears on the small tubs.  Who will fill up all the tubs first?

Introducing Mrs. Wishy Washy, the cow, the pig and the duck!  Oh what fun we all had acting out the story.  We acted it out  each day until every student had a turn!

We celebrated National Child Day on Thursday! The children really enjoyed creating their own crowns and marching throughout the school!



Using the five frames.  I covered up the 6 on the dice.  One child rolled the dice the other placed that amount of bears on the five frame.  The student who rolled than checked the work. The students took turns rolling or placing the bears on the five frame.

The water table is always a popular learning centre activity!  Notice the joy on their faces!

November 9 - 13 Finishing up Chicka Chicka Boom Boom!

We Remember...

We chose a descriptive letter from Chicka Chicka and created our own.  ex black eyed P, skinned knee d

Use the materials and build the Chicka Boom tree. Then have a game of match card concentration.

Roll the dice color that part of the Chicka Boom tree that has that number on it!

Ten frame playdough mats.  Add the correct number of playdough coconuts to the ten frame mats.

The Chicka Boom tree arrived in our class aka: me!  The children listened and placed the letters on the tree as the story was told.  Lots of fun!

Mr. Grady arrived with his cordless screwdriver and a hammer.  We had discussed and passed around a coconut and now it is time to open it up and do some tasting.  Thank you Mr. Grady!

November 2 - 5 Chicka Chicka Boom Boom continues...

Draw a letter card - show it to your classmates- name it and using a bingo dauber stamp find and stamp it on your chicka boom tree!

Choose some words find the letter tiles to make the words.

Create your own chicka boom tree. Add you name with letter stickers!

Our interactive morning message.  Good Morning,  Today is Music.   We go to book buddies.  Love Kyden, Sawyer, Lily, Cohen, Katelyn, Evan, Henry, Kyler, Logan B., Nixon and Brooklynn.  The children are helping write the message.  They put down the letter sounds that we are hearing.  Any sight word that has already been introduced has to be spelled correctly.  The students are enjoying helping with the message.

October 26 - 30 It's all about Halloween!

Evan, Kyler, Nixon, Kyden and Jasper passing out their Halloween treats!  They were so pleased to treat the class.  We took Brooklynn's fruit tray down to the lunchroom to pass out.  Special thank you to our treat people.  Everyone will have an opportunity to treat the class during the year.
