March 6-9 ~ Dr. Seuss ~ with a focus on The Cat In The Hat!

This week in KA we concentrated
on The Cat in the Hat!

We are making Cat In The Hat -
hats for a song during
our Spring Fling Talent Show!

How to draw the cat in the hat.
Follow the directions and
see what your Cat in The Hat looks like!!!

Our finished Cat in the Hat Art
I think each one is very
creative and unique!

We completed a Cat in the Hat chart!
He did some crazy, silly, rude, playful,
fearless and responsible things in the story!

Looking for Cat in the Hat words
for this work job.

Which Cat in The Hat character
will race to the top?

Clear the Board - the board has numbers
from 2-12 you put some markers anywhere
you want on your board. Roll two dice and
count the dots.  Remove a marker from that
number on your board.  See who clears their
board first.

Oh The Places You’ll go and Kid,
You'll Move Mountains floor puzzle.
Thank you to Mrs. Keough for loaning
us her puzzle.

Lenny the Leprechaun arrived in the class.
Each day Lenny is hidden and the
children need to find him.  The children also
decorated the class display table for St. Patrick’s.
We thought we should add some St. Patrick’s
Day items to our hallway tree.  Each student
chose two pictures to add to the tree.
However, it just would not be right without
gold and green sparkles.  Grace and Seth
are busy shaking the bag of glitter with their
picture with some glue on it inside the bag!
Our tree looks festive!!!

We talked about rainbows, leprechauns
and pots of gold.  To help remember which
colors come first in the rainbow. I introduced
the name. ROY G BIV- red, orange, yellow,
green, blue, indigo, and violet. Then I set up
paint stations with the paint in that order.
The children painted both sides of their
plates, and cut out a twirl.  They also traced
and cut out pots and added gold to the pot.
