February 18 - 21 ~~~ Getting ready for the 100th Day of school

I hope you enjoyed your
Valentine’s Day photo!

We are a little early getting
ready for our 100th Day of School.
Color the 100 number chart by code
and see a beautiful heart appear.

Getting our 100th Day crowns
 ready for our celebration!

Our 100th Day books. We
discussed how we may look
when we are 100 years old.
Wrinkles, stooped over, using a cane, etc

Color the 100
items in the 100th number.

We spend some time each day
on guided reading. Each Friday
the children read a book to the class.

It was extremely cold so we
had two indoor recesses. I set
up some activities for the children to enjoy!

January 27 - 31 ~~~ Family Literacy Day & The Hat

Shubenacadie Sam did not see
 his shadow… Spring should be
just around the corner.

Stefen celebrated his 6th birthday.
 Happy Birthday Stefen!

We celebrated Family Literacy Day.
 Reading together with your children
 is so important.

I set up the classroom with
some cozy areas. Mark Inman,
 Scott MacDonald, Chelsey,
 Bailey, Ms. McLean were
some additional readers in the class.

The children brought in their teddy
bears and favorite books.

We read The Hat by Jan Brett. The work
jobs were all about the story.  All the
animals took an article of clothing off
Lisa’s clothesline. Draw an article of
clothing and help Lisa get her clothing
back. See who gets all the clothing back
first. If you draw a piece of clothing that
you already have put in back in the container.

Count and record the number of
shapes on the hat. Color the hat.

Spell the animals with the letter tiles.

Using the playdough, spell
the words, create the animals.
