April 23 - 26 ~~~~ Dinosaur Days week # 1

Measuring dinosaur bones using links,
cars, Lego and blocks. Record how
many items are needed to measure each bone.

Roll and race dinosaurs. Roll the
dice record which dinosaur is
racing to the top!

Three dinosaurs puzzles!  The floor
dinosaur puzzle is quite difficult.

Dino Tracks.  There are 10 dino
tracks around the class. Each track
has a picture on it.  Try to sound out
the picture and print any sounds you
hear on your footprint sheet.

We have been recording things
we know about dinosaurs! New
learnings are added with different
colors.  Lots of information on our chart.

I introduced my light table this week.
The children are enjoying
exploring the gems on the table.

Some learning centre pictures!

Our dinosaur art.  I had four
dinosaur stencils. The children
chose one to trace and cut out.
They painted a beautiful mural
background to glue their dinosaur
shadows on.

We had an assembly and the
Students of the Month were
announced. Congratulations to
Jaxon on being student of the
Month in KA.

Abi is showing her
cursive writing skills!

The eaglets have hatched.
We do not know their names yet.

Legacy chose Duck, Duck, Goose
as his teacher activity for part of
his Star of the Week!

Our Spring Talent Show … I am very
proud of each of the children. It is
not easy to get up in front of people
and perform. They all did an amazing job.
They were also an attentive audience
to their classmates. I teach the children
it is important to be respectful when
someone is talking or showing something to
the class. I think they are an awesome
group of children.  Thank you for taking
the time to come to watch and thank you
for helping me put the class
back together again after the show.

Whiteboard number formation from 1-10.
Check your numbers on a number line to
see if they are formed correctly. Show
your work to me. Finally have a few minutes
to draw on your board.

Mr. Smith is lending a hand
to help the children create
their dinosaur fossils.  We
will paint them this week.

We send a slip to the office when
we noticed Paige being very kind
to another child.  Her name was
drawn and she was called up during
the assembly. Way to go Paige!

April 14 - 17 ~~~~ Easter

Color the Easter egg by color code.

How many carrots tall and wide
is the bunny?

Choose an egg open it up and record
the sight word in the egg. Color
the eggs.

Bunny towers, build a tower. Roll the dice
remove that color of a bunny without
letting the tower fall.

Each school has received a Maker Cart.
I took the training on what is on the
Cart and how to use the materials.
In the afternoon we let the children
enjoy experimenting with three of the
items.  First one just plain Lego where
The children are encouraged to use their
creative imagination to build. Since it was
the first day of trout fishing I suggested
they build a bridge.

Cardboard maker.  There are plastic saws,
screwdrivers, screws and hole punches. The
children cut apart cardboard and design things.
The children really liked this item a lot!

Plain wooden blocks to build the bridges
build were quite interesting.

Mrs. Gard our guidance counsellor was in
to read a story about bullying to the class.

Putting the finishing touches on your Easter
Cards.  I think they turned out really nice!

The children made their own bunnies. Each face
was unique!

The children are decorating cups for their Easter
baskets.

The fun of searching for their hidden Easter baskets.
I love the expressions of joy on their faces.

A tisket a tasket a little Easter basket . Xxxx took
An egg and  his way he dropped it.  If it was dropped
by you , open the egg and tell us the sight word.

The table is ready for our Easter snack.

The best part of bringing in treats is getting to
pass them out to your friends!

Primrose’s celebrated her 6th birthday. Happy
Birthday Primrose!

A great looking bunch of bunnies!

April 22nd is Earth day, we read a couple of Earth Day
