April 7 - 11

WITS Program Launch!  You may hear your children saying that they need to use their WITS! Ask them what this means!

Acting out the story of Goldilocks and The Three Bears!  It was lots of fun!

The children decorated the class for Easter and thought it would be a great idea at learning centre time to hide the Easter eggs and have an egg hunt!

March 24 - April 4

Sorting 3D blocks into groups and them describing why the blocks were sorted in each way.  Color, corners, points, tall, curves, etc.

Our Art work job ...ROY G. BIV helps to learn the colors in the correct order in the rainbow.  Red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo,  and violet!

Working on our own personal day timeline!  What do you do in the morning, afternoon, early evening and at bedtime?

Fishing with a magnetic rod, matching the number of dots on each fish with the number in the fish bowl.

Which items weighs more?

Part part whole... drop 6 sticks , each stick has a red or yellow dot.  Place the sticks with the correct color under each dot. This time Walker discovered that 3 and 3 makes 6!

March 10 -14

File Folder Games .. sorting letters are they tall, small, hanging, or do they have loops?  Which letter goes in the middle?

Jersey Day!

Our Science work job ... gobstoppers what color is it at first?  What happens as you suck on it for a few minutes?  Record your findings.

March 3 - 6

We baked bread just like the Little Red Hen ... then we were able to eat it -  it was delicious!

First we roll the dice, then we build the number with cubes on the Little Red Riding Hood math work job!

Working on our 3D Creatures .... the children really enjoyed this activity and asked if they could do it again.  We have enough materials to let this be a work job again next week!

Working on the marshmallow experiment.  First you draw the marshmallows, then the cup, I put hot water in the cup.  The children stirred it up .... what did they see happen to the marshmallows.  Record your work!

Write the room with words from Little Red Riding Hood!

Writer's Workshop ... the children are really enjoying being authors and illustrators in their own books!  It is exciting to see their interest! 

First we used actual dominoes and then we did this in our math solving notebooks.  The children  did an excellent job!

Ryly worked on this 3D project for three days and then she gave it to her friend Ben! 

Learning centre time ... building with the Lego is always a popular choice!

February 24 - 27

How do you think March came in ?  Like a Lion or a Lamb?

Our 100 Day activities!  Thank you for sending in the 100 day items!

During learning centre time the children like to play boardgames with me. They love to win!

We have been learning about 3D shapes .  We were experimenting to see which objects would roll or slide!

The Little Red Hen. We will be baking bread tomorrow- Monday March 3!

First we read the card,  then build the word with letter tiles and finally print the word.
