April 2-5

Easter art, children transformed into bunnies and an Easter table
that the children enjoyed exploring.
They were very careful with the breakable items!

The children were using lots of small muscle control as they
colored, cut and glued the bunnies and cards.
Each Easter bunny and card turned out as unique as the
children.

Science is interesting! Different results occurred
for different groups with the liquids race!

The children really enjoyed this math work job.
Counting, sorting, recording and finally eating some of the
jelly beans.

The children used wonderful teamwork to put together
this map of Canada. Great job!

Can you follow the map to get to Goldilocks house?

W looks like he is ready for some fun!

Z is having fun on the climber!

March 26 - 30

Our Wall of Art looks great!
Each Goldilocks and Baby Bear is quite unique!

We had such fun acting out Goldilocks and The Three Bears.
I loved the character voices that the children used.
The children really enjoy acting out stories.

We have been reading different books about Goldilocks and The Three Bears.
If you have any other Goldilocks and The Three Bear books please send
them in for us to read. Thank You!

C and J are excellent artists!
They like to draw and write on my easel.
Cooperation and teamwork.
Notice the smiles!

Estimating, explaining why you think that there are that number of bears.
Counting the bears in the jars. Was I close?

Guided writing with Goldilocks and The Three Bears.
My favorite part is ...
I am guiding the printing- are you beginning at the top when printing, using lowercase letters and leaving spaces between words.

A used the whiteboard to illustrate what she would say if
she was a bear and Goldilocks was in her house.
Get Away!

If I were a character in this fairy tale I would say...
We have been discussing how some illustrators use speech bubbles
to say something.

Our work jobs focused around Goldilocks and the Three Bears this week.
The children are using their senses to describe the trees that may have been in the forest around the Three Bears Home.

Ron Taweel has captured the attention of the children.
He read the book, Castles, Caves and Honeycombs.

C and Z were searching the classroom for clues about Easter.
Here C has found an Easter chick!

C and C are best buddies. They were having a lot
of fun in the dramatic play centre.

Notice how A put many small blocks around the bottom of her structure.
When I asked if she could tell me why she put them there, she replied that it
would help keep it from falling.

March 12 - 16

We read the book Flat Stanley and then we all made Flat Friends and
mailed them to other kindergartens across PEI. We will be tracking
where our friends went and what kind of adventures they had while they
were away. We sent some pictures and a couple of carefully chosen treasures with our
flat friends. We are hoping that they begin to come back this week!

Writing what they might find in the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow!

The children worked hard at cutting and pasting to make their
Michael Finnegan prop for our Talent Show.

Z was really surprised to discover that when objects are
in water and you use a magnet objects still attract.

Lenny the Leprechaun left us a note with directions
to follow to find his pot of gold.
We wore green and were so quiet that we found Lenny's Pot of Gold.
Thanks Lenny!

We were surprised at how many items we were able
to find to go into our Museum.
Wonderful teamwork!

We had a hunt for 3D items in the classroom and then
put them in our 3D Museum

March 5-8

St. Patrick's Day Art decorating our tree.
Shamrocks, leprechauns, and several pots of gold!

Math Makes Sense - we are learning about building with 3D shapes.
The children learned about inuksuks - which means " likeness of a person."
Then the children were given a partner and a choice of 3D materials to build their own inuksuk.
When everyone was finished the groups showed and shared their inuksuks.
I think they look great!

The writing centre always has someone drawing, writing letters, or making books.

G brought his own board to class and requested to write the message.
Good Morning! Today is Tuesday! Today is gym! Love, Griffin Lecky
Thanks for the message!

What do you have in your lunch today. Draw and count the items.

During learning centre time J amd A were using the light table.
They sorted the gems into different colors. Great teamwork ladies!

High Five bins ... we are finished of our work jobs.
Now which activity will I choose to work on?

Cut out food you like, glue it onto a chart and sound out the initial sound of that food.

In this dish there is warm water, sugar, yeast and flour. Draw and write what
you predict will happen to it. Later, draw and write what actually happened.

March is Nutrition Month!
We have been discussing fruits and vegetables.
The children created paintings using fruit and vegetables as tools.
