November 21 - December 1 ~~~~~~~~ Pete The Cat!

Working with the pattern blocks.  Using the blocks to make images and letters.

Dominoes 1-5.  Count the dots on the domino and place it under the correct number.

Number puzzle 1-10.  This was quite challenging to put together.

Beading letters.  Add the letters that you recognize on your string.  Can you make your name?  Sight words?

Some learning centre time activities!

We were working on rhymes and the children then were asked to create a rhyming board.

Learning all about numbers.

Draw a Rhyme Story.  The children listened to each direction and then drew their rhyme monster and finished it by coloring it up.  Each monster certainly has it’s own personality.

Creating our crowns to wear on National Child Day!

All ready to go on our National Child Day March.  We marched to the office and treated people along the way with a cookie.  The students were spreading the message of National Child Day.  On the way back we stopped into grades, 1, 2, and 3 and had enough cookies to treat each class.  Thank you to Cassie, Kaitlynn, Patrick, and Brooklynn for bringing in cookies!

November 7 - 10 Finishing up Mrs. Wishy Washy and Celebrating Remembrance Day!

We created our own Mrs. Wishy Washy.  Each one is unique with her own personality!

Our Remembrance Day Art!  We added our Poppies to the Grade one display!

Our Remembrance Day service assembly.  The kindergarten children were awesome.  It is not easy to sit on chairs in the front row of an assembly and sit quietly for a long time.

This work job consisted of using the pictures from the Mrs. Wishy Washy story and putting them in the proper sequence

Each card had a letter on the front.  Find the picture that makes that initial sound.  Some of the children found this quite difficult.

Color by number. Roll the dice and color the part of the picture using the color code

Cut out your Mrs. Wishy Washy story that you colored last week.  I laminated them so you can share the story with your family. Enjoy!

Some learning centre time activities. Dramatic play is a favorite centre.

Working on number concepts.  How many different ways using two trays and magnets can you make that number amount.  We noticed that 0 +5 = 5, 1 + 4 = 5, 2 +3 = 5, 3 + 2 = 5, 4 +1 = 5, and 5 + 0 = 5.

Mrs. Wishy Washy (aka Mrs. Dumville) made an appearance and picked up the children from music.  The children said they knew it was me as they could tell by my white ears.  Imagine!

Pick a word from the tub, find it on your tub sheet and using a bingo dabber dab it.  If the word says pop!  Dab any word you would like to dab.

Mrs. Wishy Washy board game.  Who will arrive at the finish first?

Working on our own Mrs. Wishy Washy story!

Roll the dice, place that number of bears in the tub.  How many dice rolls will it take to fill all the tubs?

Mrs. Wishy Washy play dough mats.  Spell the word and that animal in the tub.

Working on number formation.  These number 5’s are looking awesome!

Some learning centre time!

We had lots of fun acting out Mrs. Wishy Washy!!!  We acted it out three times so everyone had a turn to be a character.

Working with a five frame.  Roll the dice count that many bears to place on the 5 frame.

Portfolio keepsake decisions.  The children are deciding which three pieces of work they would like to keep in their portfolios.

October 24 - 26 It's All About Halloween!

Our finished Pumpkin Men Wall of Art.

Individual pumpkins with their own personalities!

Working with 5 frames.  Roll a number between 1-5, your partner places that many bears on the 5 frame.  Take turns rolling and counting.

Halloween listen and do.  Everyone has their own space, I read the directions 2x and the children do what the directions say.  Most children did very well in following the directions.

Halloween clipboard cruising!

Halloween concentration card game.  Turn over two cards if they are the same have another turn.

Roll and print the number. Which character will race to the top?

Sorting, exploring and making patterns with many Halloween related items.

Time to carve and clean the pumpkin.  The children voted on the shapes to make the eyes, nose, mouth and ears.

Our finished Jack-O-Lantern. We will have a draw and someone will take it home on tomorrow.

Some learning centre time activities.

The writing centre is used every day.  The children know they have to now put on the name of the person they are making a letter for and also add their own name so they know who it is from.  Cassie has a letter already for me!  Thank you Cassie!
