April 8 - 11 ~~~~ All About Math, Spring and beginning of Easter

Add the eyes… turn over a number
card. Record that number on your
monster and add that amount of eyes.
Continue with another card.

Gone Buggy, you get a bug
container card. Roll the dice,
collect that number of bugs
for your jar.  If you roll the
fly swatter remove one bug.
If you roll the Off remove
all your bugs.  See who has the
most bugs in their jar at the
end of the game.

Part Part Whole … each players
get a bag of 10 two sided counters.
Shake them up and drop the
counters.  How many of each side.
Count and record.

Monster Counting Cards…
pick a card with a number
on it.  Add that many beads
to a pipe cleaner and lay it
on the card.  Choose another card.

Class vote … where should we eat?
12 children chose to eat in
the classroom and 1 child
wanted to eat in the lunchroom.
So we ate in the classroom.

Gavin choose Doggie Doggie,
Where’s Your Bone? As his
teacher activity as part of
his Star of the Week.
Mr. Bernard did a great
job with this activity.

We worked on Easter Cards…
Step 1 write the words,
step 2 add the paint for the chicks.
We will finish Step 3 adding
the details this week.

April Showers Bring May Showers….
The children did some beautiful
artwork. Each child’s creative
details are unique!

April 1 - 5 ~~~ Wrapping up Dr. Seuss

Green Eggs and Ham
comprehension chart!

Roll and record. Which Dr. Seuss
character will race to the finish?

Clear the Board… place ten counters
anyplace on your board that has a
number line on the bottom up to 12.
Shake two dice, count the dots.
If you have a counter on that number,
remove it.  See who clears their board first.

Red Fish, Blue Fish … using anything
you wish from the container to decorate
One fish red and one fish blue.

Clipboard cruising with a twist.
Find words that begin with letters
In The Cat’s Hat.  I introduced
the dictionaries to help find
the words.

Number order… I gave the students
Numbers from 1-12.  They
arranged themselves in order.

Sasha or Ms. Kropf, chose
Hot Potato, as her teacher
activity since she was
our Star of the Week!

During Learning centre time
I had a game of  7 Up
all the children had a turn.
They really enjoyed the game!

We finished our Dr. Seuss theme
with a game of Seuss Bingo!

Some learning centre time pictures!

I try to give a little time for
puzzles each day!

Whiteboards are a favorite
activity. We do some word/number
work and then the children
get to draw.

Turn and talk. A great way
to teach the children to listen
as someone else is talking.

The children were quite
excited to decorate the
theme table for Easter!

Blaiz celebrated his 6th
birthday.  Happy birthday
Blaiz!

Alphabetical order.  I gave the
children letter vests up to
letter Mm.  They worked
together to get in the right
order.

March 25 - 29 ~~~ Dr. Seuss with a focus on The Cat In The Hat!

The Cat in The Hat …
comprehension chart.

Creating patterns using
 green and yellow eggs.

Bullseye.. Drop the butterfly marker,
the number you land on you pick up
that many blocks. At the end of the
game who has collected the most blocks.

Jazlynn was the teacher for an activity
as part of her Star of the Week. She
chose Doggie Doggie Where’s your Bone?

Green Eggs and Ham floor puzzle.
This puzzle was a little difficult
to out together.

Help Thing 1 get to Thing 2
through the maze.  When
you are finished draw Thing
1 and 2 on the back of your sheet.

We learned a couple of Dr. Seuss songs!

Thing 1 and 2 have overtaken the
classroom.  The children’s faces are
in Thing 1 and 2.  They created a
frame around the outside using an AB pattern.

Follow the directions and
draw your own Cat in The Hat!

Number Challenge… each child
receives a container with numbers
in it.  Both children draw out a
number and whoever has the
highest number says “me”!

My gift from learning centre time.
I was asked not to come close
to the writing table while Charlotte
and KaDee worked together to create
this beautiful picture for me.
Thank you girls!!!

Some learning centre pictures!
