November 21 - 25 Pete the Cat!

Turn and talk the children are telling each other what they like to so outside in the snow.

In Social studies we have been discussing Needs and Wants.

We have been reading Pete the Cat books all week.  We voted on our favorite of these three books.  Pete The Cat Rockin’ in my School Shoes was the favorite!

Lots of fun counting, and taking turns with Pete the Cat board game.

The Pete the Cat puzzle was a hit.  One group managed to put the puzzle together 5 times during work job time!

The completed puzzle!

Celebrating teamwork!

Concentration card game.  Watch carefully to see what cards your friends turn over.  If you get a match you have another turn.

Pete the cat art.  Cut out, glue together and add details to your own Pete the Cat!

Our finished Pete’s.  I love their different personalities!

Interactive Pete is outside on the hallway.  Anyone going by can change the number of buttons on Pete’s shirt.  It is changed every time we go out of the classroom.  The students change it if they go to the washroom,  the office, anytime they are in the hallway.

We have began Writer’s Workshop.  Your children decide on what they want to draw a story about. Then during learning centre time I assist them with guided writing to write the story.

We signed out the chrome cart on Friday for the first time.  Four students were able to independently login and then helped a friend.  I will try to sign out the chrome carts once a week.

Some learning centre time activities!
