May 13 - 16 ~~~~ Book Making and Waste Watch

Cheryl Turner was in Mon - Thurs.
She was leading book making with the students.
The excitement was wonderful.
We spent 45 minutes creating books each day.
Some children created a few books and
some added onto their first book each day.
When it was time to do something else
Some of the children were asking if they
could work on their books at learning centre time.

Each day Cheryl began the book making
session by reading a book.  She referred
to the following books to point out motion marks,
speech bubbles, a two page spread, different
 types of print, and punctuation.

Book making in action.

Show and share your book with a friend.

We had a book making celebration
with Mrs. McCarthy’s class. Every
child shared one special page in their book.

We celebrated book making.
We had some snacks. The children
thought it was a wonderful celebration.

Some learning centre time pictures.

We kept the work jobs “hand on” after
working on writing each morning.

Merie, from Waste Watch was in
to give a presentation on sorting,
recycling and what happens to the
material we recycle. Did you know
recycled water bottles are used to
make stretchy clothing?
