February 6-10th

The high display case has been removed and we now have
a tree to decorate. Here our tree has been decorated
with Valentine Art from Kindergarten A and B and
Grades 1 and 1-2.
Ask your child to tell you the story
of where the the tree came from.

I believe that almost every animal, car and block
have been used in this wonderful structure!

Each day different children get to choose their centre first at
learning centre time in the afternoon. Here both K and C
wanted to use the computer. I suggested they could both use
it if they took turns. Cooperation at it`s best!

This dragon picture was in the paper practice bin.
We had discussed Chinese New Year.
The children kept asking is there any more dragon pictures.

Mr. MacDonald has captured the children's attention as he
reads " Momma Zooms``. Momma is in a wheelchair and can
do lots of great things. We need to treat all people the same.

The paper practice high five has been very popular
with the students. In this container is an assortment of mazes,
cutting, and dot - to-dot.

C also chose a book to read.

Here C chose a book to read from the high five bins!
Great work at pointing to each word.

All student completed their own How To Make a Snowman
procedure book. Mrs. Dumville
guided their writing.

Mr. MacDougall, our mystery reader did a great job of engaging the
students as he read the book " The Show-and-Tell Lion.

Roll the dice and build the snowman.
Each number required the students to add a different part.
When the six was rolled they could add any part they wished.
Numbers, following directions, cooperation and turn taking!

The finished products!

The children working on their paper plate snowmen.
Cutting, gluing, imagination and fun!

The ice sculpture snowmen were a hit!
Two balloons with water were frozen for each child.
The with a little help, some coarse salt, felt and yarn they turned
into beautiful snowmen.
Thanks to Mrs. Dumville's sister, Elaine for the great idea.
The only sad part was that they had to melt.
