April 27 - 30 The Gruffalo!

Happy 6th Birthday Gemma!

We created a Dinosaur Story.  Each child had a couple of props and listened to know when they put their items in the story.  We had trees,  dinosaurs, rocks, volcanoes, a meteorite, the sun, clouds, and the land.  Lots of learning occurred with this active hands on story!

Before showing the Gruffalo I asked "What might a Gruffalo look like?"

Create three Gruffalo related words using the tiles and then lace 2 lacing wheels!

Using the playdough add the features or make the letters and then play the board game!

Create your own Gruffalo.  I put out some materials and the children went to work.

The finished Gruffalo"s!  They are awesome.  Each one is unique!

Label the Gruffalo and then complete the puzzle!

Some learning centre time activities!

I put out a couple of hockey sticks and a very soft puck.  This was a popular learning centre! A fun way to encourage gross motor skills!

Guided reading with Ethan, Gemma and Lauryn!

Watching the Gruffalo.  The children were given tickets , a choice of popcorn or chips .  They moved their chairs to a comfortable place, the lights were turned off and our classroom theater was ready!
