Making our insect fact booklet!

Alphabetical order, match game, matching upper and lowercase ladybugs, rhyme game.  After the games where explained each I gave each team a captain to organize the activities.

We had a hair salon with doll heads and a horse head for the children to make beautiful.  Jack suggested we also add scissors to the centre so the plastic playdough scissors were added they did not really cut the hair.  The velcro rollers, elastics, clips, hair dryer and curling iron kept the children really busy trying to create the latest fashion hair!

The wood working centre was also a big  hit!  The children had to wear safety glasses for this centre.  The hammers were really busy as they hammered nails into the wood and also tried to get the nails out.  Many fine motor skills are being put to work at this centre.  I believe a few fingers were also hit by the hammer in the process.

The paint easel is always a popular centre.  The children are amazing artists!

Some other learning centre time activities!

The children are really enjoying the time with me or Ms. B playing a game at learning centre time!  Here we are playing Ladybug Fly Home! Playing games in a wonderful, fun way to encourage cooperation, taking turns, and good sportsmanship!

The writing centre is open each day.  Molly was writing and writing. She made beautiful notes for Gemma and Lydia!  Great  writing Molly!

Friendship Salad is a part of our social studies.  We learned that fruit is grown in many countries.  It is picked, packaged, stored in a cool place and is shipped, flown or maybe put on a train to come to the stores where we can go and buy the fruit.  The grapes that we used in our salad came all the way from Chile.

Here we are enjoying our fruit salad!
