January 22 - 26 ~~~ The Snowy Day!

We had lots of fun learning with the book
The Snowy Day by Ezra Jack Keats this week.

Art and literacy all in one fun activity!

Retelling with the Snowy Day!

This work job consisted of labeling Peter,
the character in the story.  Children needed
to figure out the beginning sounds for this job!

Working on individual Snowy Day booklets!

Drawing what Peter did on a snowy day
and drawing what you like to do on a snowy day.

Clipboard cruising with words
from The Snowy Day!

Some learning centre activities!

Each Friday the students read their
guided reading books to the class.
They use my microphone, and
they are beginning to use nice
expression when reading.
I encourage them to use their
pointer power and their re-read power.

Family Literacy Day!!!
The class was converted into cozy reading areas.
The children really enjoyed sharing their books with their friends.

Here we are in front of our Literacy display…
Good Books Keep Popping up!
Lots of books were read!!!

Mr. Doran read to our class and
Mrs. Arsenault also read to our class.
I read to Mrs. Arsenault’s class!

The students created measuring snakes
and then they had to find items in the class
the same length, shorter and longer than their snake.

The students have been taking turns
writing the morning message.
Great messages by Holden, Emily, Emma and Bransen!
